Ian has 7 years of experience working in the hydrogeological and environmental engineering field in Montana. He serves as a senior hydrogeologist for KirK and specializes in hydrogeology, hydrology and geochemistry. Ian also serves as the lead of KirK’s GIS and mapping services.
Ian’s professional experience includes hydrogeologic investigations, aquifer testing, water rights permitting, groundwater modeling and exploration, contribution to numerous water resources assessment projects, technical report and grant writing, Superfund (CERCLA) technical assistance, map production and spatial data analysis, riparian assessment, and water quality sampling. Ian has a Master of Science degree in geology from the University of Montana. His research experience includes groundwater recharge characterization in mountainous areas using ecosystem modeling, numerical groundwater modeling of alluvial basins in the Western U.S., and geophysical approaches to aquifer characterization. |
