Stream Restoration

Granite Conservation District – Granite County, MT – KirK assessed the environmental and engineering conditions associated with rehabilitating a stream channel and reservoir through a historic mining property.  The project involved potentially rehabilitating all stream and reservoir components.  The project required detailed flood flow calculations and GIS/Land survey mapping.  This mapping was utilized to project future flow areas and reservoir capacities.

Beaverhead Watershed Committee – Beaverhead County, MT  – KirK prepared design plans and specifications for rehabilitating Spring Creek including new channel configurations, riparian planting, bank protection measures and land surveying.

Powell County – Deer Lodge, MT KirK designed and submitted a FEMA application for a complete rebuild of this urban stream through Deer Lodge, MT.  By creating digital maps from existing Flood Insurance Study (FIS) maps, working with a surveyor to generate First Floor Elevations (FFE) and preparing Benefit/Cost Analysis (BCA), KirK was successful in helping Powell County secure up to $3,000,000 in grant funds for this important community project.
